The problem

Market information needed to move beyond data presentation and provide a basis for daily trading decisions.

IAP’s contribution and approach

IAP combined web analytics, energy prices collected by the editorial team, and historical and current futures and commodity-market data. Research on structure discovery and forecasting informed the analysis developed for this task. The system imports data automatically, synchronises historical records and retrains the models daily. It can withhold a forecast when the data does not provide a sufficient basis.

Result and development stage

The solution was deployed as an MVP on IAP servers with protected customer access and a dashboard. The workflow covers data ingestion, local preprocessing, daily forecast calculation and presentation to the trader. A separate position-management simulation accounts for long and short positions, transaction costs, bid–ask spreads and exit limits, allowing model predictions to be assessed in the context of trading decisions and risk.

Oilprice.com is tracking a professional audience of 60,000+ people per day on its website, focusing mainly on oil and gas. The development of a decision support system for energy sector trading by IAP-GmbH has been an outstanding success for our business. The AI-driven solution delivers remarkably accurate energy price forecasts, far surpassing the reliability of traditional, arbitrary trading methods. This has enabled us to seamlessly transition from merely presenting data to making truly data-driven decisions, enhancing our overall business strategy and performance.

I am a seasoned and very experienced investor in AI and I am so pleased with the quality of IAP‘s work, that I decided to ask them to develope new AI driven systems for my other investments like GHPower and The Body Shop.
